SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY, KEY TO NIGERIA’S DEVELOPMENT – NABASU

The outgoing Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Mr. Bitrusa Bako Nabasu said that Science and Technology are the keys to Nigeria’s socio-economic development.

Mr. Nabasu said this while handing over to the incoming Permanent Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Bello Umar in his office on Monday in Abuja.

Mr. Nabasu urged the management and staff of the Ministry, to extend their cooperation to the new Permanent Secretary. It is only through this, He added, that the Ministry would move to greater heights.

He commended the management and supervising Directors of the Ministry, for their initiatives and great ideas which have helped the Ministry in breaking new grounds.

Mr. Nabasu, said the management and staff of the Ministry carried out their duties with a sense of harmony and urged them to extend the spirit of oneness and cooperation to the new Permanent Secretary.

In his remarks, the new Permanent Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Bello Umar, urged the management and staff to work together in a participatory management style to drive the vision and mission of the Ministry.

He assured that he will inject new ideas, innovations, and initiatives that will propel the Ministry to greater heights.

He urged for an open-door policy, stressing for more participation from members of staff and management. He added that he will continue his developmental policies from where the outgoing Perm. Secretary stopped.

Dr. Umar, said side-talks, gossips, and black-mail won’t be tolerated under his stewardship because they de-rail the progress of any organization.      

He assured members of staff and management, of a rewarding experience under his stewardship because of his seasoned experience in government MDA’S (Ministries, Department and Agencies).
