DR. EKWEOZOH, PETER C., mni (Member of the National Institute); Fellow, Institute of Professional Industrialists and Management Development (FIPIMD ), was born on the 29th September, 1963 at Nawfia in
Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State where he received his primary education. He holds B.Sc (Hons) in Biochemistry; M.Sc in Brewing Science & Technology; MBA (Management), Galileo Master Certificates in Renewable Energy Management & Finance/Energy Efficiency in Buildings/Carbon Management/Green Deal/Wind Power/Renewable Energy Solutions and Professional Diploma in Computer Science & Technology. For over 10 years Mr. Ekweozoh has been involved in Science and Technology policy formulation and strategy as Special Duties Assistant to three different but consecutive former Honourable Ministers of Science & Technology in Nigeria. He is a Director and former Head of Department of Bioresources, and currently Head of Department of Environmental Sciences and Technology, Federal Ministry of Science & Technology. He is also the Head of FMST Climate Change and in that capacity, he has led the Technology Transfer Negotiating Team of the Nigerian Delegation to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Conference of Parties in Copenhagen, Denmark, in 2009. He remained Nigeria’s Lead Negotiator on Technology Development and Transfer to Nigerian Delegation to the UNFCCC until 2015. He has served at various times on the Boards of the Nigerian Institute for Trypanosomiasis Research (NITR), and the National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency (NESREA). He is also on the Board of the Centre for Arid Zone Studies, University of Maiduguri. He has delivered papers in many national and international conferences including the First and Second Science with Africa Conferences (SWAI and SWAII) held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. He was a participant at the Senior Executive Course 39, 2017 of the Nigeria’s prestigious National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru. He is a member of the National Institute (mni).
