SHAMAKI URGES COLLABORATION WITH PRIVATE SECTOR
The Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology, Dr. Amina Shamaki has called for collaboration between the Organised Private Sector and the Ministry to accelerate the industrial development of Nigeria.
Dr. Shamaki made the call at the Induction/Sensitisation workshop on Public Private Partnership for agencies and parastatals under the Ministry on Monday 7th of May 2018 in Abuja.
Dr. Shamaki said she was confident of the ability of Public Private Partnership to stimulate and drive the desired development of Nigeria. She further said that the collaboration will also ensure commercial viability of research and development results.
The current administration she added will steer Nigeria away from a “mono” oil based economy to diverse non-oil based economy that would be technology and innovation driven.
In his remark, the Acting Director General Infrastructure Concession, Engr. Chidi Izuwah, called for the utilisation of Science and Technology to improve upon the construction process in Nigeria. He also said the Public Private Partnership will fastrack the progress of the Country in terms of quality of infrastructure and makes it at par with what is obtainable in developed nations.
