The 5th High-Level Industry-Science-Government Dialogue on Atlantic Interactions seeks to offer opportunity for interactions among stakeholders on the study of the Atlantic Ocean, and will discuss application of Space Science and Technology in the study of the Atlantic Ocean, Climate Change, Big Data, and Environment among other related issues. The 1st edition held in Terceira Island, Portugal, while subsequent ones held in Florianopolis, Brazil; Cape Verde; and Canary Island, Spain.

Atlantic Interactions is an international initiative to unleash the potential of the Atlantic Ocean for the benefit of the world. It fosters knowledge-driven solutions for Atlantic and Global Societal challenges that require interdisciplinary research and innovation of complex Earth systems through cooperation targeting the Atlantic.

It recognizes the relevance of an integrative approach from deep-sea to Space allowing a holistic governance of the Atlantic region and improving its prosperity and well being of its citizens. The knowledge of “Atlantic Interactions” can better protect and explore in a sustainable way this important region of the Planet, propose knowledge-driven solutions to address systemic risks and foster innovation-based growth and development.

Atlantic Interactions aims at fostering new paradigms of interaction across the Atlantic and across disciplines to foster new knowledge on ocean, climate and energy sustainability. It takes advantage of the most advanced technologies to build new and integrated knowledge of the Atlantic that will allow for its enhanced management and sustainable exploration of its resources, benefiting decision-makers, researchers, companies and the society in general.

The 5th edition will hold in Lagos, Nigeria and will provide opportunity for Researchers in the fields of Space Science, Climate Change/Environment, Oceanography, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), as well as key players in the private sector to discuss various approaches to explore the Atlantic Ocean to the benefit of mankind, particularly those countries on the boarders of the Atlantic Ocean.
