The Polish Ambassador to Nigeria, Mrs. Joanna Tarnawska has commended the Federal Government for appointing Women in good position in the scheme of things.
Mrs. Tarnawska made the commendation when she paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu in his office on Thursday in Abuja.
Mrs. Tarnawska said she was highly impressed to see women occupying key sectors in the power echelon of the country.
Mrs. Tarnawska, who said she is the first Polish woman Ambassador to Nigeria added that the two countries has a lot to learn from each other in various facets of life, particularly Science and Technology.
Earlier, Dr. Onu had told the visiting envoy that Nigeria is making strenuous efforts to transit from a commodity-based to a knowledge and Innovation-driven economy.
Dr. Onu further said that his Ministry was the arrow-head of this transition through its innovative research outputs.
He extolled the beneficial relationship between Nigeria and Poland, adding the relationship should be sustained for mutual benefits.
In his words “I believe both nations could cooperate in so many areas and indeed focus on Science, Technology and Innovation and the result of the cooperation will be beneficial to the destiny of our respective countries”.
