GENERAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT

The General Services is responsible for the routine maintenance and servicing of all moveable and immoveable assets of the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology and Innovations (FMSTI). The principal objective of the department is to provide a conducive and friendly environment for government business for optimal service delivery and general well-being of staff. The Department is headed by a Director and it is made up of four (4) Units, namely:

  • Maintenance unit headed by Chief Maintenance officer (CMO)
  • Store : Headed by Chief Store Officer (CSO)
  • Office Management Unit : Head by Office Manager (ACEO)
  • Transport: Headed by Transport officer.
  • Departmental Activities
  1. Management and supervision of cleaning service providers
  2. Processing payment for service providers
  3. Quarterly disinfection of the office premises
  4. Environmental management
  5. Allocation of offices  Space
  6. Procurement of supplies
  7. Requisition of stores
  8. Registration of all new vehicles and renewal of documents for old vehicles
  9. Documentation and allocation of vehicles
  10. Fuelling of Project/Utility Vehicles
  11. Provide administrative services to transport staff and management in general
  12. Vehicle maintenance
  13. Procurement of vehicles
  14. Boarding/disposal of unserviceable vehicles
  15. Repair of faulty equipment and installation of new equipment
