The General Services is responsible for the routine maintenance and servicing of all moveable and immoveable assets of the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology and Innovations (FMSTI). The principal objective of the department is to provide a conducive and friendly environment for government business for optimal service delivery and general well-being of staff. The Department is headed by a Director and it is made up of four (4) Units, namely:
- Maintenance unit headed by Chief Maintenance officer (CMO)
- Store : Headed by Chief Store Officer (CSO)
- Office Management Unit : Head by Office Manager (ACEO)
- Transport: Headed by Transport officer.

- Management and supervision of cleaning service providers
- Processing payment for service providers
- Quarterly disinfection of the office premises
- Environmental management
- Allocation of offices Space
- Procurement of supplies
- Requisition of stores
- Registration of all new vehicles and renewal of documents for old vehicles
- Documentation and allocation of vehicles
- Fuelling of Project/Utility Vehicles
- Provide administrative services to transport staff and management in general
- Vehicle maintenance
- Procurement of vehicles
- Boarding/disposal of unserviceable vehicles
- Repair of faulty equipment and installation of new equipment
