This is a right step channeled on the right direction, but my take is that the internship program should not be restricted to only the undergraduate students, it should be left open to all because AI is taking over the world and any one who wants to go beyond the beginners stage should also be encouraged and empowered to do so.
Again in other climes the government had made the environment so enabling that the accessibility of the knowledge of science and AI is just like being able to speak their lingual Franca and this has eased the application, mastering of the acquired knowledge and transitioning so seamless.
I think that our government should do same so as to be able to harness more talents and also hit the desired target.

    1. Thank you for your kind words. Please note that the course is open to Nigerians from diverse educational and professional backgrounds, including youth, students, and civil servants.

This is a very interesting, I will suggest that the internship should extends to all student’s academic and nown academic. If the ministry can employ casual or expert training providers that have a well structured curriculum, it will be more impactful, rather than living it in the hands of shabby organizations. It’s one thing to have a skill and another to have the resource to fully convert the skills to source of livelihood and also undertake research that drives our dear country to greater heights. To this effect, the government should look at providing laptops for top graduating individuals and also present a reliable internship opportunities for the participate.

  4. A very commendable work. Internship programs should also be added to this training to help for proper application of this program.

  7. This is a good move by the federal government.however,we have seen programs similar to this(3MTT) not yield the required impact in the lives of average Nigerians.

    God bless Nigeria.

This is wonderful, and great opportunities for us Nigerians. I pray to Allah for the success of this program and to be part of it from the beginning to the end of it ameen.

  10. I applaud the Federal Government for the commendable initiative of establishing an AI Academy. This is a significant step towards equipping citizens with the skills needed to thrive in the evolving technological landscape. However, I would like to humbly request that resources and support be made available for the local development of AI-driven devices such as drones and robots post-training. This approach will not only reduce dependency on imports but also foster innovation, create jobs, and position our nation as a leader in AI technology.

  11. Many thanks to the federal government of Nigeria and especially to the honourable minister for this very laudable project that will take nigeriàns from out of poverty and make us not only creative but employers of labour.👍
